Hariharan is an Indian background singer and ghazal singer who has sung more than 5000 songs Wiki and Telugu languages. Till now he has sung songs in 10 different language films like Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Bhojpuri.

Hariharan was born on 3 April 1955 in Thiruvananthapuram city of Kerala to father Ananth Subramani and mother Mrs Alamelu.

He married Lalita Hariharan. The couple has two sons, Karan Hari Haran who is an actor and Akshay Hariharan who is a musician. They have a daughter named Lavanya Hariharan.

Hari Haran was fond of singing since childhood. Although his first mentor was his mother, who introduced him to Carnatic music, but in his teens, he was greatly inspired by Mehdi Hassan and soon developed a passion for ghazals. Later he also started taking interest in Hindustani music.

After hearing her voice in the All India Sur Singaar competition, late music director Jaydev was extremely impressed and signed her to sing ‘Ajeeb Saneha Mujhe Par Gujar Gaya Yaaron’ for his film ‘Gaman’ (1978).

She started her career as a background singer in the Bollywood music world with the song “Ajeeb Saneha”, which was composed by music director Jaydev for the film “Gaman”. He had come into the limelight from his first song as this song proved to be a super hit. He also won the Uttar Pradesh State Award for his debut song.
