Kapil Sibal was born on 8 August 1948 in Jalandhar district of Punjab. Kapil’s father’s name is Hiralal Sibal and mother’s name is Kailash Rani Sibal. Kapil Sibal’s early education was completed from St. John’s High School in Chandigarh.

After completing his schooling, he graduated in LLB from the respective St. Stephen’s College, Delhi based University. And then after that he completed his studies till graduation from history subject.

In 1984, he was the only lawyer to be seen in the Parliament House. Who had successfully defended the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court at the time of the impeachment proceedings. This impeachment motion was placed in the Assembly on 10 May 1993 for the purpose of voting.
