Mouni Roy was born on 28 September 1985 in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India. His grandfather Shekhar Chandra Roy was a well-known artist of Jatra Theatre. His father, Anil Roy, is the office superintendent of the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad and his mother, Mukti Roy, is a theater artist.
He has a younger brother named Mukhar Roy. She considers her father as her role model.
He completed his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Cooch Behar. After that he completed his graduation in English Honors from Miranda House, University of Delhi. His parents wanted him to become a journalist and so he enrolled in a course in Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi. However, he left the course midway due to his passion for acting.
Personal Life
On 27 January 2022, she married Suraj Nambiar, a Dubai-based businessman, in traditional Malayali and Bengali ceremonies in Panaji, Goa. (1)
Career
Mouni Roy started her acting career in the year 2006 with the TV serial “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” in which she played the role of Krishna Tulsi.
Then he worked in popular TV serials like “Kasturi”, “Naagin”, “Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi”, “Do Saheliyan” and many more. She gained popularity when she played the role of Sati in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev.
Since 2022, he is a judge on Dance India Dance Little Masters 5.
