Eknath Shinde is an Indian politician and the Cabinet Minister for Urban Development and Public Works (Public Undertakings) in the Government of Maharashtra.
In the year 2019, he was appointed as a Member of Legislative Assembly from the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency of Thane, Maharashtra on a Shiv Sena ticket.
In the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections till 2019, he was elected for four terms including 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019.

Birth & Early Life of Eknath Shinde
Eknath Shinde was born on 9 February 1964 in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. His father’s name is Sambhaji Navlu Shinde and mother’s name is not yet known. He is married to Lata Eknath Shinde who is a businesswoman. They have a son named Shrikant Shinde.

He got his early education from New English High School Thane. After some time he left his schooling and started doing a small job to earn livelihood for his family.
While he was doing odd jobs in his career, it was only in the 1980s that he came in contact with Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray and Shiv Sena’s Thane district chief Anand Dighe, who assisted him in joining the Shiv Sena.
In 2014, he resumed his studies after becoming a minister in the BJP-Shiv Sena government and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marathi and politics from the Vashwantrao Chavan Open University, Maharashtra.
He then joined the Vashwantrao Chavan Open University, Maharashtra from where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.
