Lovlina Borgohain is an Indian boxer. He won the bronze medal for India by performing tremendously in the Tokyo Olympics 2021. Lovlina is the first woman boxer from Assam to qualify for the Olympics. He was awarded the Arjuna Award in the year 2006. She won a bronze medal and a silver medal during the Women’s Boxing Championships in the year 2018 and 2019.

She started her career with kick boxing like her sisters, but after some time she started taking her steps towards boxing. When she got an opportunity to do so she displayed her talent in her school Barpathar Girls High School in Sports Authority of India. During this, famous coach Padam Boro selected Lovlina. And started training them in the year 2012. Boxer Mary Kom was the biggest inspiration of Lovlina. She later received training from Chief Women’s Coach Shiv Singh.

Lovlina made her first international debut in June 2017 at the President’s Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan. Where he won a bronze medal in the 75 kg category. During the same year in November 2017, he also won a bronze medal in the Asian Boxing Championships.

He got a big chance in the year 2018 when he participated in welterweight boxing at the Commonwealth Games. But she lost to Britain’s Sandy Ryan in the quarterfinals. But in February this year, he won the gold medal in the welterweight category in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship. After this, in June 2018, Lovlina won a silver medal in the Ulaanbaatar Cup in Mongolia and in September also won a bronze medal at the 13th International Silesian Championship.

In the year 2019, she won a silver medal in the second AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship.

During the month of March of the year 2020, Lovlina also qualified for the Olympics by winning the Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualifier Boxing Tournament. She became the first female player to make her place in the Olympics. In the same year in October 2020, Corona caught Lovlina in her grip and she missed joining the national boxing team.
